I throw. I work with porcelain and stoneware. I make my own glazes.
My studio is in a converted stables in a field in Gloucestershire. It is light, calm, and in harmony with the landscape. I work to create objects that respond to and reflect these elements.
My potting process is one of striking a careful balance. It is a marriage of alchemy and art, precision and experimentation.
The clay might be millions of years old, potting with it brings it to back life. By loving it into a ball, slapping it on the wheel, and firing it to 1260 degrees c., it becomes something else, something new, something for a home.
